Wi-CardioResp project has recently obtained approval for funding in the scope of QREN National Strategic Reference Framework for 2007-2013. The project aims the development of an integrated system with the capability of remote measurement and transmission of physiological data with a control component for assisted ventilators for domestic usage.

The goal is to have the system operating remotely in a domiciliary regime, allowing patients and caregivers the remote monitoring and parameter adjustment, reducing the number of visits to the healthcare unit and providing a closer follow-up of the patients.

The system has applications to the remote monitoring of assisted ventilation and effort intensity control in patients with neuromuscular disorders. This project is promoted by the consortium:
